Rocket
There’s a lot of rage going around. Rocket, the Guardians’ wise-cracking raccoon, seems to have more than his fair share. In fact, he sometimes seems to work at alienating those around him and causing trouble. Indeed, he swipes batteries from The Sovereign—the very same batteries that the planet hired the Guardians to protect.
You always hurt the ones you love, they say, but some folks seem to do it more purposefully than others. If you buy that we often do things out of hunger, folks like Raccoon almost have a form of emotional anorexia. They want love and companionship, but they push it away—more fearful of rejection than the pangs of loneliness they already feel. How can you work through that difficult state? How can people love people (or raccoons) like that in spite of themselves? Well, Vol. 2 gives a hint or two.
