Christmas stuff with these people.

Good afternoon all! I hope everyone is winding down their year, wrapping up your work and preparing for a relaxing Christmas holiday with family.

I’ve been absent on the blog this week because I’ve been trying to wrap up some work of of my own. This week in particular has been a struggle for me. As you may know, I do real estate development here in Dallas. I won’t bore you with the details, but one of my projects has not gone the way we had hoped. My partners and I had a builder leave us high and dry after not completing the tasks we paid him for and now we’re in the painful process of needing to refinance the entire project and sinking even more money into it.

As I was lamenting the whole project this week and thinking about the money I will inevitability lose, I was checked when reading Jesus Always: Embracing Joy in His Presence by Sarah Young. Like her other book Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence, Jesus Always is a daily devotional meant to inspire us through God’s word. Her message on December 14th, reminded me not to grow weary and lose heart. It spoke about renewing your strength by giving praise to God in the midst of difficulties. In other words, I needed to stop and reflect on how God promises to never leave me and just how blessed I already am.

My eyes were immediately opened. I’m so blessed to have this amazing family, to live in a country that allows me to chase my entrepreneurial dreams, to be surrounded by people who love me, and the list goes on and on. So what if I lose money on this project? I’m still blessed beyond measure and no number of bad projects can take away from God’s promise of ultimate peace through Him.

So that’s my prayer for all of you today- no matter what’s going on in your life, I hope you’ll take a moment and realize that we have a God which we can hand our worries to and I hope you’ll take inventory of his amazing blessings.

Merry Christmas!
