Nick Viall – the most controversial bachelor choice ever? October 12, 2016

Earlier this week, I went serious on you. Today… not so much. Let’s talk about our new bachelor Nick.

Most controversial bachelor choice ever? Probably. He hasn’t exactly been the most likable guy on his two stints on The Bachelorette but he did seem to redeem himself this summer on Bachelor in Paradise. (See his guest post “Why I Brough Up the Fantasy Suite.”) He went from being the smarmy, pompous guy who didn’t care to be friends with the other guys on The Bachelorette to a pretty darn humble and thoughtful guy on Bachelor in Paradise.

Nick has basically lived in Fantasy Bachelor World (it’s a real place) for the past three years now so to say he was an interesting choice is quite an understatement. With that said, I think he’ll not only make for an interesting season but I’m also rooting for the guy to actually find love.

I’ve been able to spend a decent amount of time with Nick and I must say, I really like the guy.

I think a lot of people will be disarmed by his awkward nervousness and in some cases, his insecurities. Nick has mentioned to me several times how he is nervous to be the bachelor and how he hopes the women will not judge him too harshly for the things he’s done in the past. Not only that, he’s told me how he’s envious of the family I’ve created and how badly he wants that for himself. Every bachelor will confess to wanting to find love and settle down on camera, but he told me these things off camera and I tend to believe him. I think a lot of people will be surprised by his genuineness and will eventually begin to root for him.

Last and most importantly, Nick has been one of my favorite targets on Twitter and I love the fact that he can take a joke, so I’m very much looking forward to firing sarcastic tweets his way come January. Love him or hate him, I’m betting on an entertaining season come January.
