Here’s a Glimpse of What Real Love Looks Like

Here’s a Glimpse of What Real Love Looks Like March 2, 2015

True story.

Around 2 o’clock on Saturday night/Sunday morning, I got really sick. I don’t know what caused it but I was up all night. Actually, I was down all night. To be more precise, I was lying on the floor of the bathroom – face on the tiles.

When Catherine woke up and noticed I wasn’t in bed, she came to me.

Knock, knock, knock.

“You okay in there?” I heard her faint voice from the other side of the door.

Not to be too graphic, but we’re friends, right?  I can be honest with you?  I believe my exact words were, “It’s coming out both ends.”

Tonight on The Bachelor’s “Women Tell All,” there’s no telling what’s going to happen.  Usually, the crazies confront, the wounded hearts lament what might’ve been, and drama ensues.  It’s easy to lose track of the fact that Chris is really looking for a wife.  It’s also easy to forget what a “wife” or a “husband” looks like after they say “I do.”

Sometimes, yes, Catherine and I get to do fun things. (Check out these photos from the Emmy’s, for example.) Because of the way we met, we get to do some exciting, crazy things.  But 99% of life is normal.  It’s taking the dogs out, it’s going to church, it’s fighting over the covers.

Also, it’s sitting there in the middle of the night with stomach issues.

Instead of being grossed out, Catherine stayed by my side all night during the ten hours of hell I went through this weekend.

That’s how – without a helicopter or hot tub in sight, I caught a glimpse of true love.
