One simple way to instantly improve your marriage

I often post lists of ways you can protect your marriage or improve your marriage, but I’m going to do something different here. I want to give you one quick and simple way INSTANTLY improve your marriage. No frills. If you will do this, I can guarantee your relationship with your spouse will become stronger. I’ve seen it a thousand times.

HERE IT IS…I want you to think of something you haven’t ever communicated to your spouse. Maybe it’s a secret you’ve been keeping. Perhaps it’s the way you FEEL about something, but you haven’t communicated it because you were afraid of what his/her response would be. It could be a FEAR you’ve been wrestling with or even a DREAM you’ve been carrying that you’ve been reluctant to say out loud. Have you thought of something you’ve never said out loud to your spouse? 

Whatever it is, bring it out into the open. Give your spouse an all-access key to your mind and heart. Refuse to keep secrets. Secrecy is the enemy of intimacy. The strongest marriages aren’t just naked in the bedroom, they’re NAKED in all parts of the relationship (emotionally, physically, etc.). Be vulnerable with each other. Bring EVERYTHING out in the open (even the difficult stuff). A painful truth is always better than a hidden lie.

EVERY time you communicate something that makes you feel vulnerable, you’re inviting your spouse into a deeper level of intimacy with you. Sharing your heart will bind your hearts closer together. So, what are you waiting for? Find your spouse and start the conversation. Stop waiting for the “perfect moment” because you’ll end up waiting forever. Do it right away. You can thank me later.
