Most husbands want to be a good provider, and he will silently judge his own success as a husband and a father based on his ability to provide for your wants and needs. If he feels he can’t keep up with what you’re wanting to buy, he’ll feel like a failure. When you show willingness to to delay gratification or help the family make disciplined financial decisions for the long-term financial health of the family, it reminds him that you are his partner in this and he’s not in it alone.
