Jack Sock is an American tennis player ranked 23rd in the world who was diagnosed with walking pneumonia right before he left for the Rio Olympics. He therefore did not expect to play much let alone win anything at the games considering his health problems. Days later, he earned the bronze medal in men’s doubles (alongside Steve Johnson) and the gold medal in mixed doubles alongside Bethanie Mattek-Sands.

“If you would have told me that before I came here after I found out I had pneumonia that I will walk away with two medals in my first Olympics,” he said, “I would have said you’re crazy.” (Kansas City Star)

However, even with all these major recent successes, his most viewed video is one showing great sportsmanship in a match against Leighton Hewitt months before the Olympics. Watch Sock surprise his opponent, the chair judge and the entire crowd. Jack Sock, you’re a great sport and role model!
