Ten takeaways from Reload ’15 conference
Reload is the world’s largest gathering of men’s ministry leaders. Here are ten cool things we learned at Reload.
Why society cares less about men
Here are four reasons both men and women have a hard time perceiving male suffering. Many are deeply rooted in human culture.
Should men’s gatherings have singing?
In the past few years more and more men’s meetings have ditched the singing — in order to leave more time for small group discussion time. Is this a good thing?
Our new moral framework (part 3 of 3)
Every Christian institution maternalizes over time. This includes Christian Universities, charities, mission organizations and of course, churches.
Forgiveness for fools
What do we do with a man who claims to follow Jesus, falls into temptation, even positions himself to sin, but does not succeed?

Black church triples in size by focusing on men
In the past five years the church has exploded. Instead of five reliable men, Kirkland now has about 50. Overall attendance has more than tripled – from a low of 50 to an average of 175 on a given weekend. Giving is up. Mission work is up. The church is growing so rapidly there are plans to expand the facility.
Use the 10-10 format to teach men
Whenever I speak to men’s retreats, I use a 10-10 format. I speak for about 10 minutes – then the men discuss questions for 10 minutes. The results have been astounding.
It’s time to redesign the men’s retreat
It’s time to re-design the men’s retreat. If it’s just another church service with some intermural basketball, men won’t come. If you’re asking men to give up a weekend you’d better offer a mind-blowing experience that’s different than what they already get at church.
